I’m Mike Danese, a Seattle-based software engineer. I work on infrastructure security, identity, and access.
This blog is about tech, security, cryptography, and whatever else I find interesting in the moment.
I’m building foundational identity and access management platforms for Trust and Safety at Databricks.
I spent eight years at Google, joining the early Kubernetes team in 2015. During my tenure, I led identity, policy enforcement, and compliance for Google Kubernetes Engine.
I also chaired and served as Tech Lead for Kubernetes SIG Auth, where we owned core infrastructure—including authenticators, authorizers, certificates, node isolation, and service accounts. I am still a top-ten contributor to the Kubernetes core codebase by commits.
Before that, I studied mathematics at UC San Diego.
